(BLP) – A letter signed by 33 Republicans was sent to President Joe Biden by Rep. Troy Nehls (R-TX) on Thursday, calling on him to fulfill his constitutional duties by defending the U.S. southern border from ongoing invasion. The constant stream of invaders from unknown origins has been left unchecked since Biden began altering effective border policies implemented by former President Donald Trump.
The letter reminds the president of what is known as the “Guarantee Clause” in the U.S. Constitution, calling on Biden to invoke the clause and end the nonstop inflow of illegal migrants, drugs and gang violence; specifically, to end the ongoing border violations perpetrated by the cartels.
During this time in America, when scarcity abounds; when energy is in short supply, but high demand; when Americans are being warned of food shortages and even higher prices at the grocery store; the Biden administration is allowing millions of low-skill immigrants into the country to compete with American citizens for jobs, resources and housing. The stream of illegal migrants will be taken care of by the government and its enormous purchasing power, exacerbating the already crippling shortages we are — and will be — experiencing.

But, rather than follow this directive, the Biden administration has taken baby formula from Americans, in favor of sending it to criminal invaders on the southern border. And the president recently signed a bill that sends $40 billion, enough to fully secure the U.S. border, to Ukraine, prioritizing their border over our own and putting Americans in danger.
Citing recent cross-border attacks, the letter highlights Mexican gang members firing guns at a U.S. consulate building near the southern border, as well as instances of cartel members shooting at Texas National Guard soldiers and Border Patrol agents.
The letter also warns of “heavily armed” cartel members becoming more and more common along the border, citing a Texas Department of Public Safety report that listed numerous instances of cartel gunmen taunting National Guard soldiers from across the Rio Grande, dressed in tactical gear and displaying AK-47s.
The group of house Republicans also also reported that the cartels are currently the “leading suppliers of fentanyl, cocaine, heroine, methamphetamine and other illicit narcotics to the United States.” That fact, coupled with the record number of overdose deaths this country is experiencing each month, should be more than enough incentive to attack the border crisis with every available resource. But, again and again, Americans are put last by the current regime, in favor of foreign nations and foreign people.

The call to action by House Republicans begins:
The United States is experiencing an unprecedented and entirely avoidable crisis along our southern border with Mexico. As head of the Executive Branch, it is your responsibility to uphold Article Ⅳ, Section 4 of the United States Constitution and protect Americans from the invasion at our southern border.”
Article Ⅳ, Section 4 of the United States Constitution, known as the Guarantee Clause, states, ‘The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them from invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic violence.’ However, you are failing to uphold this Constitutional duty to secure our border from invasion, which is putting all American citizens in danger.
Others to sign onto this America first call for the president to fulfill his constitutional obligations were Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), Chip Roy (R-TX), Michael Burgess (R-TX), Louie Gohmert (R-TX), Andy Biggs (R-AZ) and a list of other Republicans who should be supported by conservatives wanting to finally address the border crisis.
