(Slay News) – Florida’s Republican Governor Ron DeSantis has dropped the hammer after authorities reported that illegal aliens were caught looting in the aftermath of Hurricane Ian.
As Slay News reported, DeSantis had vowed to crack down hard on any looting and he is a man of his word.
However, it has now emerged that all of the looters arrested by police so far have been illegal aliens.
“We’ve had four looters that were arrested, I guess a couple of days ago, and they need to be brought to justice and we’re not going to tolerate it,” DeSantis said.
“But you know, three of the four are illegal aliens so these are people that are foreigners, they’re illegally in our country, and not only that, they tried to loot and ransack in the aftermath of a natural disaster.
“I mean, they should be prosecuted, but they need to be sent back to their home country.
“They should not be here at all,” DeSantis warned.
“If I could I would take those three looters, I’d drag them out by the collars and send them back to where they came from.”
On Thursday, Omar Mejia Ortiz, 33, Valerie Celeste Salcedo Mena, 26, Brandon Mauricio Araya, 20, and Steve Eduardo Sanchez Araya, 20, were arrested by Lee County sheriff’s deputies.
Brandon and Steve Araya as well as Valerie Mena were charged with grand larceny.
Omar Ortiz was charged with petit larceny.
DeSantis also took a swipe at DeMocrat President Joe Biden after Pinellas County Sheriff’s Deputy Mike Hartwick, “got killed by a twice-deported illegal alien from Central America.”
“Someone was operating heavy machinery, was not eligible to work and had fraudulent documents — did not have the proper license — and ran over a deputy,” the governor said.
“How is that something that should be acceptable?
“I do think that what has happened by having massive numbers of people coming across the border has not been good for this country,” he said.
