(Slay News) – Elon Musk responded to Washington Post reporter Taylor Lorenz getting busted lying with a warning to owner Jeff Bezos that the ‘trend’ of the paper lying is ‘super bad.’ CNN’s Oliver Darcy broke down what happened:
“WaPo has added a correction to a Taylor Lorenz story after two people said they were not contacted for comment as the initial version of the article stated. The correction says “previous versions” of the story “omitted or inaccurately described” the attempts to ask for comment.
“New correction from WaPo is more clear: ‘The first published version of this story stated incorrectly that Internet influencers Alyte Mazeika and ThatUmbrellaGuy had been contacted for comment before publication.
“In a series of tweets, Lorenz blames her editor for having inserted the error into her story and says she is the victim of a “bad faith” campaign.

“WaPo’s 2nd correction indicated one influencer was asked for comment ‘via Instagram’ before publication. The influencer is saying that isn’t true and Lorenz is now saying she reached out after. Small detail in grand scheme but weird WaPo can’t get this basic detail straight.
Glen Greenwald said of the Post printing Amber Heard’s libelous story about Johnny Depp:
“WPost’s media critic, @ErikWemple, criticized the paper for publishing the op-ed by ACLU, under Amber Heard’s name. He asked the Post for comment since a jury found it defamatory. Their answer: ‘We do not take stands on the opinions shared in our op-eds’”
Christopher F. Rufo said: “Taylor Lorenz is the rule, not the exception, at the Washington Post. Last year, the paper ran a hit piece against me and had to retract or add six full paragraphs, admit to fabricating a timeline, and reverse a key accusation, which I proved was false.
“The editors then tried to hide their errors through stealth edits and a completely misleading ‘clarification.’
“Washington Post writers are grim and talentless mercenaries for the regime and have polluted a once-respected newspaper with smears, propaganda, and lies.
“Democracy dies when the media lies.”
Elon Musk said:
“There are still some great journalists at WaPo, but the trend is super bad.”
