BREAKING: Mitch McConnell Caught In BOMBSHELL Trump Impeachment Scandal

Must Read

(Slay News) – Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) praised Democrats for pushing for President Donald Trump’s second impeachment, according to a new book.

The book claims that McConnell and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) were furious with Trump after Jan. 6 and discussed ways to remove him from office before his term ended.

New York Times writers Alex Burns and Jonathan Martin’s new book, “This Will Not Pass,” details what allegedly happened.

McCarthy, according to the book, said he would push Trump to resign immediately.

“I’ve had it with this guy,” McCarthy reportedly told a group of Republican leaders.

But McConnell and McCarthy caved after taking the pulse of the GOP elected officials and the base.

They feared a war with Trump and his supporters or that the 45th president could form a new party and leave the GOP in the dust.

The book claims McCarthy said:

“What he did is unacceptable,” he told the group.

“Nobody can defend that and nobody should defend it.”

The book continues:

“Mr. McCarthy said he would tell Mr. Trump of the impeachment resolution: ‘I think this will pass, and it would be my recommendation you should resign.’

“He acknowledged it was unlikely Mr. Trump would follow that suggestion.”

The book also reports that McConnell was convinced Trump would be impeached over Jan. 6, allegedly saying: “If this isn’t impeachable, I don’t know what is.”

The book claims:

On Monday, Jan. 11, Mr. McConnell met over lunch in Kentucky with two longtime advisers, Terry Carmack and Scott Jennings.

Feasting on Chick-fil-A in Mr. Jennings’s Louisville office, the Senate Republican leader predicted Mr. Trump’s imminent political demise.

“The Democrats are going to take care of the son of a bitch for us,” Mr. McConnell said, referring to the imminent impeachment vote in the House.

The book also claims that Kevin McCarthy was hoping Twitter would ban GOP Reps like Lauren Boebert for parroting Trump’s bogus election claims.

A McCarthy spokesman issued a weak denial saying Kevin “never said that particular members should be removed from Twitter.”
