(Big League Politics) – President Donald Trump signed an executive order instructing the Secretary of State to review the Antifa movement for designation as a terrorist organization and to render foreign nationals affiliated with the movement inadmissible aliens.
Just now: President Trump has ordered the Secretary of State to consider listing Antifa as a terrorist organization and render foreign nationals affiliated with Antifa inadmissible aliens. Not sure if this executive order actually legally changes anything, though. pic.twitter.com/FjkgGwkfjv

The full memorandum on inadmissibility of Antifa-affiliated foreign nationals cites the left-wing group’s track record of violent rioting and terroristic tactics. President Trump references attacks on Portland journalist Andy Ngo, organized criminal activity in Kentucky during Breonna Taylor Black Lives Matter protests, and persistent violence in Berkeley, California by left-wingers affiliated with the movement.
The order refers Antifa to the State Department for potential designation as a terrorist organization.
“The Secretary of State shall, in consultation with the Attorney General and the Secretary of Homeland Security, review information received from the Department of Justice and other authorities to assess whether to classify Antifa as a terrorist organization under section 1182(a)(3)(B)(vi) of title 8, United States Code.
(b) The Secretary of State shall take all appropriate steps, in consultation with the Attorney General and the Secretary of Homeland Security, to consider listing Antifa in 9 FAM 302.5-4(B)(2)(U)Aliens Who Are Members of an Identified Criminal Organization.”
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo can potentially complete an expedited review of President Trump’s referral, ensuring a determination is made by the end of the month on Antifa’s terrorist organization status.
While Antifa is most known for violent and terroristic political action in America, the method of left-wing organizing has European roots. An Antifa travel ban would impose a travel ban on those affiliated with it in other countries.
