(Big League Politics) – The New Jersey governor’s race got a bit more interesting on Monday after a Project Veritas video showed Gov. Phil Murphy’s campaign consultant saying that the Democratic incumbent plans to push statewide forced COVID-19 shots after the election in order to avoid upsetting the “independents and undecided.”
The new video features political consultant Wendy Martinez, whose firm Atabey Consulting has received more than $60,000 in payment from the campaign as of now, The Washington Times reported.
A new video released by James O’Keefe and the Project Veritas group shows O’Keefe confronting Martinez in a parking lot.
“Wendy Martinez?” O’Keeffe began. “I’m James O’Keefe from Project Veritas. You’re on hidden camera saying Phil Murphy is going to institute vaccine mandates but will wait until after he’s elected. This is you on video here.”
A clip of Martinez is then played showing evidence of O’Keefe’s claims.
“He is going to do it, but he couldn’t do it before the elections. Because of the independents and the undecided,” Ms. Martinez says in Spanish on the phone Matthew Urquijo, who is the manager of Forward 2021, a coordinated campaign paid for by the New Jersey Democratic State Committee. She later added that “right now is about him winning.”
“Not that he won’t [get elected], but I think there are some people that, you know, might push back,” Mr. Urquijo says.
Martinez then mocked those who oppose forced COVID-19 shots, belittling them as being obsessed with “freedom” obsessed killers in profanity-driven rant.
“Because they are all into all the shit ‘My rights, my shit,’ and they don’t care if they kill everybody,” said the New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy consultant.
“I think the problem is right now — because it’s election season — he is not going to have people say, like, ‘We’re gonna have a mandate now,’ ” Mr. Urquijo says. “Because, you know, for some people that’s going to piss them off. I think once, you know, we have a win, he’s like, ‘All right, guns blazing, like, ‘Who cares? I’m in it. Let’s do the mandates. Let’s do this, X, Y and Z.’”
Martinez can be seen in the video repeatedly dodging Okeefe’s various questions, which primarily surrounded around why she and the Murphy campaign have chosen to intentionally deceive voters.
The interaction ended with Martinez escaping the questions of O’keefe and other Project Veritas affiliates by fleeing in a parking lot elevator.
“How do you sleep at night? That’s right run away from the cameras, what a brave person you are,” O’keefe said sarcastically as Martinez ran away from the interaction.
