JUST IN: Former Fox News Anchor Hits ROCK BOTTOM

(Slay News) – Former Fox News star Chris Wallace’s career has just edged one step closer to the graveyard as details of his new show have emerged.

Wallace will complete his fall from grace by anchoring a new Sunday evening show on CNN, according to Axios.

Wallace left Fox News for CNN’s new streaming service with a smug smile and some bitter words for his former colleagues at Fox.

But after a few weeks, Fox got the last laugh when CNN Plus imploded and was canceled.

In what many are calling the biggest media flop ever, CNN Plus, Wallace shoulders much of the blame as he was the big star they built it around.

Wallace also signed a hefty contract, so while staffers hit the unemployment line, he was fine.

Wallace said in a statement: “’Who’s Talking?’ is a rare show built for streaming that gives newsmakers the opportunity to have candid conversations and an open dialogue about the issues of the day and whatever is on their minds.

“I’ve never had more fun developing a program and am looking forward to bringing it to both HBO Max and CNN audiences.”

“Part of the CNN brand is respectful, authentic, and impactful interviews and one of the best interviewers in the business is Chris Wallace,” CNN Worldwide CEO Chris Licht said.

“Chris and his team developed an engaging and compelling program that we’re excited to bring to HBO Max and include in our CNN Sunday evening programming.”

“Wallace, who was hosting an interview show four days per week on the streaming service, will move to a weekly Sunday evening show on CNN’s linear network, two sources tell Axios.

“Later during the presentation, the network confirmed the move and noted that Wallace’s same interview show from CNN+ will debut this fall on HBO Max and will be on CNN Sunday evenings.”

Wallace said after CNN Plus imploded: “Two weeks ago, streaming was king.

“Now suddenly streaming is in an ICU on life support. I have absolutely no idea which is right and which is wrong, but the Discovery people are in charge and so they’ve made the decision.”

“I’m in good shape, whether it’s CNN or someplace else.

“Frankly, what I’m mostly concerned about right now, and very, is my team and hundreds of other people that had jobs at CNN+.

“Some of them had left CNN to go to streaming.

“Some of them had left other places, moved across the country.

“And so, I think you’re seeing a lot of the anchors at CNN+ doing everything they can to protect the people that were working on their team and to make sure they either get a safe landing at CNN or someplace else,” Wallace said.

New CNN boss Chris Licht recently sent a memo to staffers warning them that “too many people have lost trust in the news media.”

His memo said:

“I think we can be a beacon in regaining that trust by being an organization that exemplifies the best characteristics of journalism:

“Fearlessly speaking truth to power,

“Challenging the status quo,

“Questioning ‘group-think’ and educating viewers and readers with straightforward facts and insightful commentary,

“While always being respectful of differing viewpoints.

“First and foremost, we should, and we will be advocates for the truth,” he said.
