(Slay News) – Former Fox News host Megyn Kelly has dropped the hammer on “disgusting” Ana Navarro after “The View” co-host made highly controversial comments about aborting disabled children.
During the Monday Sirius XM “The Megyn Kelly Show” podcast, the host blasted Navaro for making the comments while responding to the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade last week.
“And I am not anybody to tell you what you need to do with your life or with your uterus,” Navarro said on CNN.
“And because I have a family with a lot of special needs kids.
“I have a brother who’s 57 and has the mental and motor skills of a 1-year-old.
“And I know what that means financially, emotionally, physically, for a family.
“And I know not all families can do it.
“And I have a step-granddaughter who was born with Down syndrome.
“And you know what? It is very difficult in Florida to get services.
“It is not as easy as it sounds on paper.”
“And I’ve got another, another step-grandson who is very autistic.
“Who has autism and their mothers and people who are in that society, who are in that community will tell you that they’ve considered suicide because that’s how difficult it is to get help.
“Because that’s how lonely they feel.
“I’m Catholic inside the church.
“I’m Catholic when it comes to me.
“But there’s a lot of Americans who are not Catholic, and are not Christian, and are not Baptist.
“And you have no damn right to tell them what they should do with their bodies. Nobody does.”
CNN commentator uses her disabled brother & step granddaughter who has Down syndrome as examples of why we need abortion.

Kelly fired back at Navaro over the remarks.
“It’s absolutely disgusting,” Kelly said.
“I too, I have a nephew who’s significantly autistic and he’s amazing.
“And it has been challenging for his parents.
“But they put the work in to try to help him with the issues that he’s struggled with.”
“And the suggestion that a better alternative would’ve been to abort him because their life would’ve been easier suggests that she has absolutely no understanding of love.
“And how it works.
“And the gift of a child, challenged or not.
CNN contributor S.E. Cupp also piled on:
“It’s taken me a minute to decide whether I wanted to share this,” Cupp said.
“But ultimately, I felt like I had to.
“You made an argument that one of the reasons you were pro-choice was because you knew children with special needs, in your family. So do I.”
“You said you have a step-granddaughter with Down’s syndrome, and a ‘step-grandson who is very autistic.’
And that ‘there are mothers and people who are in that society or in that community will tell you they’ve considered suicide because that’s how difficult it is to get help.’
“I have an autistic child.
“I have never met a parent of an autistic child or any parent of a special needs child who said they’d wished they’d aborted him or her.
“These children face enough stigmas and challenges.
“Please don’t use our incredible, special, wonderful, super-hero kids to make political arguments, especially about the benefits of abortion,” she said.
