(Slay News) – Renowned psychologist Jordan Peterson has declared that he “would rather die” than pander to the “cancel creeps” who are trying to silence him.
The Canadian doctor-turned-YouTuber has defended his recent tweets that triggered his Twitter suspension.
While his account remained active, Peterson is banned from posting until agrees to remove the “hateful” tweets he posted.
Peterson was suspended from Twitter this week after posting about transgender actor Ellen Page, who is now known as “Eliot.”
Screenshots posted online show the former University of Toronto professor’s tweet in question.
“Remember when pride was a sin?” Peterson tweeted.
“And Ellen Page just had her breasts removed by a criminal physician.”
Twitter claimed Peterson broke the platform’s rules “against hateful conduct.”
In his interview with The Telegraph, Peterson argued that while people perceive characteristics of themselves in the opposite gender, that does not mean they are “in the wrong body.”
“So the idea that there is fluidity and there is overlap in gender personality is true,” he said.
“What isn’t true is that this means you’re in the wrong body, and that’s not true even a bit.”
On Friday, Peterson issued a video statement to address the suspension from Twitter.
Peterson calls out the “woke moralists” and “cancel creeps” as he deconstructs the tweet that put him in the censors’ crosshairs
“I have essentially been banned from Twitter as a consequence,” Peterson explains in the video.
“I say banned, although technically I have been suspended.
“But the suspension will not be lifted unless I delete the ‘hateful’ tweet in question and I would rather die than do that.
“And hopefully it will not come to that, although who the hell knows in these increasingly strange days?”
