(Big League Politics) – Texas Governor Greg Abbott publicly revealed that the Biden White House has not even bothered to tell Texas officials about the quantity of illegal aliens who have entered America while testing positive for the Wuhan virus.
When Abbott was asked on March 15, 2021 about illegal aliens potentially spreading the Wuhan virus, the Republican governor replied, “I have not seen any data about what the COVID rate is.” He added that law enforcement has reported to his office about illegal aliens entering the border with the virus.
“We need the total number of migrants who have been apprehended at the border who have tested positive for COVID-19,” Abbott stated. The Texas governor accused the Biden administration of refusing to provide the numbers and failing to provide the Texas government “the total number of migrants who have COVID-19.”
“We expect that data,” Abbott insisted.
In the first weeks of the Biden administration, border crossings and the number of illegal aliens detained in federal facilities has increased significantly. Republican lawmakers have generally blamed the Biden administration and its lax migration policies for the current crisis.
Jack Phillips of the Epoch Times gave an overview of the rising border activity that’s beginning to rattle the U.S.:
The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) said that it had 100,441 enforcement encounters at the southwest border, which is almost triple the enforcement actions from February 2020 when Border Patrol encountered about 36,687 individuals. It’s also significantly higher than the 76,545 encounters in February 2019, which was at the beginning of the last border crisis.
Though the corporate media has not given the border crisis much coverage, Phillips reported that the Biden administration instructed the Federal Emergency Management Agency on March 13 to head to the southwest border in order to respond to the “record numbers” of illegal aliens, which has unaccompanied minors among them, arriving at the border.
“I am incredibly proud of the agents of the Border Patrol, who have been working around the clock in difficult circumstances to take care of children temporarily in our care. Yet, as I have said many times, a Border Patrol facility is no place for a child,” Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas declared in a statement.
“We are working in partnership with HHS [Department of Health and Human Services] to address the needs of unaccompanied children, which is made only more difficult given the protocols and restrictions required to protect the public health and the health of the children themselves. Our goal is to ensure that unaccompanied children are transferred to HHS as quickly as possible, consistent with legal requirements and in the best interest of the children,” Mayorkas continued.
While the U.S. has spent decades appeasing the defense industry to fight conflicts in far-flung lands, it has largely ignored its vulnerable underbelly at the border.
A much more serious ruling class would be focusing its full attention on border security and securing our hemisphere as opposed to chasing boogieman abroad.
