President Joe Biden is currently behind former President Donald Trump in seven swing states for the 2024 election. The topic of immigration is a major factor affecting Biden’s chances of winning reelection. According to a Bloomberg/Morning Consult poll, Biden is trailing Trump by three to ten points in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
The average margin of victory for Trump over Biden in all states is 48-42, indicating that Biden’s prospects for winning the next election are slim. The poll also reveals that a significant percentage of swing-state voters attribute Biden, at least partially, to the increase in migrants crossing the US-Mexico border. This percentage is higher than those who blame the Trump administration or Republicans in Congress. Additionally, a majority of swing-state voters believe that Trump would handle illegal immigration better than Biden.
However, the survey suggests that Trump’s legal issues continue to cast a shadow over his presidential bid. A significant portion of voters in these crucial states stated that they would not support Trump if he is found guilty of a crime or receives a prison sentence before the election. Trump currently faces multiple investigations and has entered not-guilty pleas to 97 felonies. The outcome of these trials could potentially impact his candidacy.
Trump has consistently refuted any allegations of misconduct and argued that the inquiries against him are politically motivated “witch hunts” aimed at impeding his chances of securing victory in the upcoming election.
As per Alyssa Farah Griffin, a CNN commentator and former communications director at the Trump White House, the outcomes reveal remarkable figures favoring Trump in crucial states where the competition is fierce.
Eye-popping numbers for Trump in battleground states. This should be a 5 alarm 🚨 fire for the Biden campaign https://t.co/TGQYnQv1pA
