Reports indicate that Democrats and high-ranking officials in the White House are experiencing a sense of panic due to the recent decision by the Colorado Supreme Court to remove President Donald Trump’s name from the 2024 GOP primary ballot. The concern among Democrats is that this move will have a negative impact on President Joe Biden’s campaign message for 2024. Biden’s campaign team and White House officials are now apprehensive that this decision may actually backfire and end up benefiting Trump, contrary to their original intentions.
A source familiar with discussions within the White House and Biden’s campaign revealed to NBC News that senior officials were extremely displeased with the Colorado Supreme Court’s ruling. The court’s decision was based on the 14th Amendment and the Democrat-appointed justices justified their action by making false claims that Trump incited an “insurrection” on January 6.
This unprecedented use of the clause has led some to believe that Colorado is engaging in election interference through non-elected Democratic-appointed justices who receive funding from questionable left-wing donors. The court’s ruling, which was a 4-3 decision, stated that Trump is disqualified from holding the office of President under Section Three of the Fourteenth Amendment, citing his alleged involvement in the events of January 6. Republicans, independents, and legal experts have expressed immediate backlash against the court’s decision.
Legal scholar Jonathan Turley has warned that this ruling represents an attack on due process of law and sets a dangerous precedent. Trump himself responded to the decision by calling it a “sad day in America!!!” Interestingly, some Republicans and Democrats, including Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL), who is a political opponent of Trump within the GOP, have suggested that the Colorado Supreme Court’s ruling may actually strengthen Trump’s support in the upcoming 2024 general election.
“They’re doing all this stuff to basically solidify support in the primary for him, get him into the general, and the whole general election’s going to be all this legal stuff,” DeSantis said Wednesday.
“One thing is clear: this will help Donald Trump,” Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) said.
“Do these Colorado clowns in black robes not realize that?”
The court’s ruling, which prevents Trump from being on the ballot, is causing concern among White House and Biden campaign officials. They worry that this decision could potentially have adverse effects on Biden as well. Biden has consistently conveyed to the American people that Trump and his followers are radicals who sought to meddle in the 2020 election and pose a threat to the nation.

The president conveyed to a journalist on Wednesday that the judiciary holds the authority to decide whether the 14th Amendment can prevent Trump from assuming elected positions.
Nevertheless, he appended an erroneous assertion that Trump had undeniably endorsed an insurrection.
“It’s self-evident. You saw it all,” Biden said.
“Now whether the 14th Amendment applies, I’ll let the court make that decision.
“But he certainly supported an insurrection.
“There’s no question about it. None. Zero.
“And he seems to be doubling down on it.”
Reporter: “Is Trump an insurrectionist, sir?”
