During a segment of her show, SiriusXM podcast host Megyn Kelly expressed her dissatisfaction with the behavior of a CNN host. The incident occurred during a townhall-style event featuring Vivek Ramaswamy, a potential GOP presidential candidate for 2024. Kelly pointed out that moderator Abby Phillips repeatedly interrupted Ramaswamy, preventing him from fully expressing his viewpoints.
“That Abby Philip is annoying,” Kelly said. “She is such an interrupter. Like, shut the eff up. Let him make his point. If you want to fact-check him later, then [do it]. Shut up, though. CNN has got an aversion to letting the words come out of the candidates’ mouths, and it’s really a disservice even if you don’t agree with what he’s saying. Yeah, you invited him! Let him say it! Then do your fact check.”
“The more she’s [Abby Phillip] trying to censor what he’s saying. I’m like, what’s he saying? Why is she so averse to it? Like his words are so vile, they cannot be uttered. They can be uttered, Abby. Let him finish. You invited him there. Let him make his damn point. And if you watch the whole clip, it’s not like he was going on forever. Like, it was a reasonable amount of time he took to set up his point. Just f–king let him make it,” Kelly said.
Ramaswamy made an effort to clarify his previous statements about the events of January 6, 2021, implying the presence of federal agents in the crowd. However, Phillips continuously refuted the candidate’s suggestion, asserting that there was no evidence to support it, and frequently interrupted him to emphasize her point.
Contrary to Phillips’ claims, The New York Times disclosed in September 2021 that at least one FBI informant was indeed among the masses who headed towards the Capitol Building on January 6, following the speech of then-President Donald Trump.
Furthermore, numerous Republican lawmakers have persistently questioned FBI officials, including Director Christopher Wray, in their pursuit of obtaining information regarding the number of informants the bureau may have had in the crowd. Unfortunately, their efforts have been fruitless thus far.
“I want to tell you guys where I’m at,” Ramaswamy said during his CNN event this week. “If you had told me — it’s close to three years ago that January 6, 2021 happened. If you told me back when I was a biotech CEO, not steeped in this world. I was consuming passive media but was focused on my world of developing medicines.
“If you told me January 6th was in any way an inside job, the subject of government entrapment, I would have told you that was crazy talk. Fringe conspiracy theory nonsense,” he continued.
“I can tell you, having gone somewhat deep in this, it’s not,” Ramaswamy continued. “The reality is this. We do have a government that we have knowledge of that has lied to us systematically over the last several years about the origin of COVID-19, about the Hunter Biden laptop we were told was false by 51 CIA experts and otherwise before we now know it was true.
“You can go straight down the list, the Trump-Russia disinformation collusion hoax. All of it. Now we come to January 6th. The reality is we know that there were federal law enforcement agents in the field. We don’t know how many,” he said before Phillip interrupted.
“I’m going to go ahead and interrupt you here,” she said.
“Because the establishment doesn’t approve of this message?” Ramaswamy fired back.
“You are saying there were federal agents,” Phillip said.
“This is important to talk about,” Ramaswamy said to applause.
“There is no evidence that there were federal agents in the crowd on January 6th,” Phillip claimed.
