Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) made an announcement on Sunday, revealing his decision to suspend his 2024 presidential campaign. In addition to this, he also issued an endorsement for former President Donald Trump. DeSantis shared this news through a video that was posted on X. Within the video, he mentioned that he and his wife, Casey, had taken the time to pray and carefully consider their next steps after the Iowa caucuses.

Consequently, he stated that he would be “suspending” his campaign. Trump emerged as the winner of the Iowa caucuses, securing over 51% of the votes.

DeSantis came in second place with 21.2%, while former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley received 19.1% of the vote. Entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy received 7.7% of the vote. Following these results, Ramaswamy also announced the suspension of his campaign and endorsed Trump.

“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts,” DeSantis wrote, quoting Churchill.
