Civil War: More States Stand Up To Defend Texas Against Joe Biden

Must Read

Multiple states have expressed their support for Texas as Republican Governor Greg Abbott continues to confront the Biden administration over the state’s right to safeguard its border.

Texas reaffirmed on Wednesday its commitment to protect itself and the nation’s frontier from the ongoing influx of illegal immigrants. Despite the Biden administration’s attempts to keep the Southern Border open, support for Texas is steadily increasing.

Several other Republican states have joined forces with Texas, providing assurance to border communities in the Lone Star State that they are not alone. Numerous states have now criticized the White House for its apparent failure to address the border crisis.

Governor Abbott, in a statement issued on Wednesday, emphasized that Texas possesses the constitutional authority to defend and safeguard itself. The governor argues that this authority takes precedence over any conflicting federal statutes.

Abbott’s provocative statement followed the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to overturn a lower court’s order against the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) under President Biden. This ruling allowed DHS to remove defensive razor wire along the Texas Southern Border, enabling an influx of illegal immigrants from Mexico.

“The federal government has broken the compact between the United States and the States,” wrote Abbott.

“The Executive Branch of the United States has a constitutional duty to enforce federal laws protecting States, including immigration laws on the books right now.

“President Biden has refused to enforce those laws and has even violated them.”

Abbott argued that Biden’s total failure to secure the border has “triggered Article I, § 10, Clause 3, which reserves to this State the right of self-defense.”

The recent increase in wire and border defenses in Texas can be attributed to the governor’s statement, which acknowledged the need to protect the state’s borders. This move by Texas is seen as a direct challenge to the Biden White House, which acknowledged that the razor wire at the border was hindering the entry of potential Democratic voters into the country illegally.

In response to Texas’ efforts to safeguard American sovereignty and its own interests, several Democrats have called on President Biden to take control of the Texas National Guard and exert pressure on the Lone Star State to comply.

Numerous Republican governors have expressed their support for Texas’ self-defense measures or criticized the Biden administration for allowing the situation to deteriorate to the point where such actions were necessary.

Shortly after Governor Abbott shared his statement online, Governor Kevin Stitt of Oklahoma, a Republican, declared, “Oklahoma stands with Texas.”

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis wrote:

“If the Constitution really made states powerless to defend themselves against an invasion, it wouldn’t have been ratified in the first place and Texas would never have joined the union when it did.

“TX is upholding the law while Biden is flouting it.

“FL will keep assisting Texas with personnel and assets.”

Virginia’s Gov. Glenn Youngkin stated:

“Virginia stands with Texas. [Abbott] is doing the job Joe Biden and his border czar refuse to do to secure our border.

“The Biden administration has turned every state into a border state.

“We must stop the flow of fentanyl, save lives, and secure our southern border.”

Georgia’s GOP Gov. Brian Kemp said, “Enough is enough.

“Our southern border is in crisis thanks to the Biden administration’s refusal to do their job.

“[Abbott] and the state of Texas have our full support.”

Governor Kristi Noem, a Republican from South Dakota, affirmed that Governor Abbott’s decision to utilize Texas’ constitutional authority to protect itself is absolutely correct.

“The Biden Administration has created a national security crisis and put Americans in danger.

“Their failure is an unconstitutional dereliction of duty.

“South Dakota has been proud to help Gov. Abbott’s efforts to secure our border.”

Other Republican governors seemed less dedicated.

However, numerous individuals conveyed gratitude towards Texas and hostility towards the federal government due to its apparent lack of action. In a tweet, Montana Gov. Greg Gianforte implied that Abbott is taking action that @POTUS refuses to do…

“By refusing to act, President Biden is inviting cartels, illegal drugs, and human trafficking into the United States.

“We must secure the southern border.”

Utah Gov. Spencer Cox said:

“The border is a disaster that continues to spiral out of control, both in terms of people and deadly fentanyl traffic.

“This is not a partisan issue. This is a national security issue.

“This is a common-sense issue. This is an American issue.

“Utah thanks Texas and Gov. Abbott for stepping up where the Biden Administration has failed over and over again.”

In recent years, several governors from red states, such as Govs. Bill Lee (Tennessee), Brad Little (Idaho), Jim Pillen (Nebraska), and Tate Reeves (Mississippi), have shown their commitment to Texas by deploying troops, law enforcement agents, support vehicles, and other resources to strengthen the country’s defenses.

Furthermore, certain Republicans in Washington, including House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), and Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX), have also expressed their support for Texas and its capability to protect itself.

“I stand with Governor Abbott,” Johnson said in a post on X.

“The House will do everything in its power to back him up.

“The next step: holding Secretary Mayorkas accountable.”
